EACE offers an educational research grant of up to €3000.00 per grant. Applications are welcomed and should address the following criteria and guidelines:

  1. Cancer education research only, not for the development of EACE, nor for clinical research.
    The research can be focused on any point on the educational cycle BUT greater emphasis will be given to applications focusing on areas other than content and method - e.g. evaluation of education, philosophy development
  2. Clear proposal is needed:
    1. Aims and objectives
    2. Methods & timescale
    3. Proposal for actions arising from results, including publication if appropriate and report for JCE [Journal of Cancer Education]
    4. Costings
      1. No equipment
      2. No salary
      3. Travel allowed
      4. Ceiling of €3000= per grant
      5. Given in two parts, up to €2000 at beginning and up to €1000 at final update [before report]
  3. Review by members of EACE grant committee:
    1. Each grant application will be reviewed and the following criteria will each be scored on a five-point scale:
      • aims & objectives
      • methods
      • actions
    2. To be granted the proposal must normally score at least 11 points out of 15
    3. One member of the grant committee will liaise between the committee and the proposer
    4. Feedback on poor proposals will be given
    5. Resubmissions will be considered
  4. Timescales
    1. 6 weeks for proposal review
    2. One year for life of grant
    3. 6-monthly updates on work to be submitted to EACE grant committee
  5. The grant committee can use the proposals and reports to expand the work of EACE, without compromising any study being funded.
  6. A list of projects to be kept on the EACE website
